One of Napa’s truly unique wineries, Darioush was founded by Darioush and Shahpar Khaledi who emigrated from their native Iran to the USA in 1976. Darioush’s father had been a budding amateur winemaker before the Islamic Revolution, inspiring Darioush to set up his very own winery in his new adopted homeland. After working tirelessly to build up a highly successful grocery store chain from scratch, the couple were finally able to establish Darioush in the southern part of the Valley in 1997.

Today the winery is best known for its remarkable Persian-influenced architecture and excellent Bordeaux blends. The magnificent columns and fountains outside the property are a big draw for visitors, making this one of the most popular wineries in the area.

Darioush is also known for its fantastic hospitality with talented and welcoming staff and an elegant tasting bar which boasts a cozy open fire for winter visits. As well as their standard tasting guests can participate in a series of extra special experiences with prior booking, including their “Fine Wines, Artisan Cheeses” tasting which pairs delicious handcrafted cheeses from small farms with rare library wines.

Darioush is ideal for Napa Valley group winery tours thanks to the a beautiful outdoor area a little to the north of the winery which is enchanting in the summer and autumn with the luscious vines all around.
